3.1 Encryption

Your passwords are encrypted before being stored in our Firebase database. We use industry-standard encryption protocols to protect your data in transit and at rest.

3.2 Firebase Backend

BookReader uses Google Firebase (Firestore and Authentication) to securely store and manage your account information and reading data. Firebase maintains strict security standards and compliance certifications including GDPR, SOC 2, and HIPAA.

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.

6.1 Access Your Data

You have the right to access your personal information. You can view and manage your account settings within the BookReader app.

You can update your account information directly through the app settings.

6.3 Delete Your Data

You have the right to request deletion of your account and all associated data. You can delete your account by navigating to Settings → Account → Delete Account in the BookReader app. All your data will be immediately deleted from our Firebase database. 6.4 Opt-Out

You can opt out of non-essential communications through your account settings.

7. Data Retention

We retain your personal information only as long as necessary to provide our services and fulfill the purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy. When you delete your account, all associated data is permanently removed from our Firebase database. If you request data deletion, we will remove your information within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal compliance.

8. Children's Privacy

BookReader is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will delete such information and terminate the child's account.
